National University Biomedical Research Institute (NUBRI)

NUBRI was established in 2015 as the National University Research Centre at the National University-Sudan to train manpower and build capabilities in molecular biology and bioinformatics. In 2017, the Center was approved as an Excellence of Center and became the National University Biomedical Research Institute (NUBRI) in 2018. NUBRI is conceived as the computational biology research and postgraduate training institute as well as a national resource center in bioinformatics within the Biomedical Research.

Our research group currently focuses on using large-scale genetic datasets to solve complex basic and applied problems in systems biology and medicine. We run our own research projects and participate in research efforts of other labs. We analyse a wide spectrum of biological and clinical data and 3D structures of macromolecules from local academic, hospital collaborators, public resources and from our own experiments. NUBRI offers additional education and allows students to combine studies at the Institute with their main educational programs, professional or research career. Apart from our long-term programs, we organize a variety of other events, such as intensive research workshops, attachment program, and many more. Today, NUBRI establishes itself as a world-class research institute in biomedical sciences with a focus on major fields, Molecular biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics and immunology.
