Background:
The prevalence of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) in Sudan was elevated more than 35% of the total population were infected with HBV according to a previous study in Sudan indicating a high prevalence of HDV in Sudan, Little information is available about HDV among Hepatocellular Carcinoma and Liver Cirrhosis Patients status in Sudan which is previous study focus on the detection of HDV but no Data about common genotype in Sudan.
Nucleic acid testing for HBV and HDV viral genomes has potential use in Hepatocellular Carcinoma and Liver Cirrhosis Patients in Sudan.
The lack of information about the disease HBV and HDV co-infection among Hepatocellular Carcinoma and Liver Cirrhosis Patients in Sudan.

Objectives:
To identify the common genotype of HBV and HDV among hepatocellular Carcinoma and liver cirrhosis patient’s status in Khartoum state- Sudan.
To Determine the prevalence of HDV by using ELISA for detection of delta
Antigen, IgM and IgG in patient in Khartoum state- Sudan.
To detect the HDV RNA using Real time PCR.
